Privacy Policy for WakeNest

Effective Date: September 2, 2026
Last Updated: September 24, 2026

WakeNest respects your privacy and is designed to give you control over your sleep, health, audio, and advertising information.

This Privacy Policy explains what information WakeNest accesses, how it is used, where it is stored, and the choices available to you when using the WakeNest application on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

WakeNest is operated by Mohamed Azad, an individual developer located in Morocco.

For privacy questions, contact: mohamedazad415@gmail.com

1. Information WakeNest Accesses

Apple Health Data

With your explicit permission, WakeNest may access health and fitness information stored in Apple Health, including:

  • Sleep sessions
  • Sleep duration
  • Sleep stages
  • Heart-rate information associated with sleep
  • Information needed to create your sleep reports and insights

WakeNest may also save sleep sessions to Apple Health when you authorize this functionality.

Apple Health permissions are requested through Apple's system interface. You can grant, deny, or revoke individual permissions at any time through the Health app or your device privacy settings.

WakeNest does not use Apple Health information for advertising, marketing, user profiling, or data brokerage. WakeNest does not sell Apple Health information or disclose it to advertising providers.

Sleep Reports and History

WakeNest may process sleep scores, sleep duration, sleep stages, heart-rate values, habits, and related report information to provide:

  • Daily sleep reports
  • Sleep history
  • Sleep trends
  • Recovery and consistency insights
  • Habit correlations
  • Personalized sleep guidance
  • Apple Watch synchronization
  • CSV exports requested by the user

This information is processed to provide WakeNest's sleep and wellness features.

Night Sound Recordings

If you enable night sound recording, WakeNest requires access to your device microphone.

Night recordings and detected sound events may include snoring, speech during sleep, environmental sounds, or other noises captured near the device.

WakeNest processes these recordings locally on your device. WakeNest does not upload night recordings to its own servers. Recordings remain stored locally until you delete them through WakeNest, remove the application, or erase the device.

Because recordings may contain the voices of other people near the device, you are responsible for using this feature in compliance with the privacy and recording laws applicable in your location.

Sleep Journal and Habits

Information you voluntarily enter, such as your morning mood, sleep notes, bedtime habits, stress, exercise, caffeine, or meditation entries, is stored locally on your device. WakeNest uses this information to display your journal and identify possible associations between your habits and recorded sleep results.

Alarm and Application Preferences

WakeNest stores settings needed to operate the application, including:

  • Alarm times
  • Repeat days
  • Snooze preferences
  • Smart alarm settings
  • Selected sounds
  • Sleep goals
  • Onboarding status
  • Application preferences
  • WakeNest Pro entitlement status

These settings are stored locally and may be synchronized between your iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple-provided connectivity services.

2. Advertising

The free version of WakeNest displays advertising provided by Google AdMob. WakeNest Pro removes advertising.

The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect or process information such as:

  • IP address
  • Device or app identifiers
  • Advertising identifiers when permitted
  • Advertising interactions and impressions
  • App launch and product interaction information
  • Approximate location derived from your IP address
  • Crash logs, diagnostic information, and performance information

Depending on your location, consent choices, device settings, and applicable law, Google may provide personalized or non-personalized advertising.

WakeNest uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request advertising consent where required. You may be able to review or change your advertising privacy choices from the WakeNest Settings screen when this option is required in your region.

WakeNest does not provide Apple Health information, sleep reports, heart-rate information, night recordings, or journal entries to Google for advertising purposes.

Google processes advertising information under its own privacy policies and terms:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads

3. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

WakeNest Pro is available as an auto-renewable subscription (weekly, monthly, or annual) or as a one-time lifetime purchase.

Payments are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. WakeNest does not receive or store your payment card number, banking details, or complete Apple Account credentials.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless they are cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings on your device. Purchases can be restored from the WakeNest Pro screen using "Restore Purchases".

WakeNest receives only the purchase and entitlement information required to unlock or restore WakeNest Pro. Apple processes purchases according to Apple's privacy policy:
https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Purchase analytics (Adapty). To understand how purchases and subscriptions perform, WakeNest uses Adapty, a service provided by Adapty Tech Inc. WakeNest reports completed App Store transactions to Adapty. Adapty may process purchase and subscription information (such as the product purchased, price, purchase date, and subscription status), a device or app-instance identifier, basic device and app information (such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, and approximate location derived from your IP address), your App Tracking Transparency authorization status, and, where permitted, advertising identifiers and Apple Search Ads attribution information.

WakeNest does not send Apple Health information, sleep data, heart-rate information, night recordings, or journal entries to Adapty. WakeNest does not use Adapty to process your payments. Adapty processes information under its own privacy policy:
https://adapty.io/privacy-policy/

4. Notifications

If you grant notification permission, WakeNest may send local notifications for:

  • Alarms
  • Snooze actions
  • Wind-down reminders
  • Sleep-related reminders

These notifications are scheduled on your device using Apple's notification services and your application preferences. You can change notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

5. Data Storage

WakeNest does not require you to create a WakeNest account.

Sleep journals, night recordings, preferences, and locally generated application information are stored on your device.

Apple Health information remains managed through Apple Health. WakeNest may read or write authorized information only to provide the features you request.

Information exchanged between iPhone and Apple Watch uses Apple-provided connectivity services.

WakeNest does not operate a remote database for storing your night recordings or sleep journal.

6. Data Sharing

WakeNest does not sell your personal information.

WakeNest does not sell, rent, or disclose Apple Health data, sleep information, heart-rate information, recordings, or journal entries to advertising networks or data brokers.

Information may be processed by third parties only when necessary to provide specific services:

  • Apple, for Apple Health, Apple Watch connectivity, notifications, App Store purchases, and system services
  • Google AdMob, for advertising and advertising consent in the free version
  • Adapty, for purchase and subscription analytics, as described in Section 3

Information may also be disclosed when required by law, a valid legal process, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the developer, or the public.

7. User-Directed Export and Sharing

WakeNest Pro allows you to export sleep history and sleep-stage information in CSV format.

Exporting or sharing a file is initiated by you through Apple's system sharing interface. After export, the file is controlled by you and by the application, storage provider, or recipient you select.

WakeNest is not responsible for how third parties handle information that you voluntarily export or share.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Local information remains on your device until:

  • You delete it through WakeNest
  • You reset applicable preferences
  • You uninstall WakeNest
  • You erase or replace your device

You can delete night recordings and sleep journal information through the WakeNest Privacy Center.

Deleting WakeNest does not automatically delete information stored separately in Apple Health. Apple Health information must be reviewed or deleted through the Health app.

Advertising information processed by Google, and purchase analytics information processed by Adapty, are retained according to their applicable policies. You may request deletion of purchase analytics information by contacting mohamedazad415@gmail.com.

9. Your Privacy Choices

You may:

  • Grant or revoke Apple Health access
  • Enable or disable microphone permission
  • Enable or disable notification permission
  • Allow or deny app tracking permission
  • Delete local recordings
  • Delete sleep journal information
  • Export supported sleep information
  • Review advertising privacy choices when available
  • Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings
  • Purchase WakeNest Pro to remove advertising
  • Uninstall WakeNest and remove locally stored application information

System permissions can be managed from iOS Settings and the Apple Health app.

10. App Tracking Transparency

When you first open WakeNest, the app asks for permission to track your activity across other companies' applications and websites through Apple's App Tracking Transparency interface. This request relates to advertising in the free version.

You may grant or deny this permission, and you can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings. Denying tracking permission does not prevent you from using WakeNest. WakeNest shares your choice with Adapty so that it is respected in purchase analytics.

The availability of personalized advertising may depend on your consent, device settings, and region.

11. Children's Privacy

WakeNest is not specifically directed to children under the minimum age required to provide consent under applicable law.

WakeNest does not knowingly request children to create accounts or directly submit personal contact information.

Advertising shown in WakeNest is expected to follow the age rating, consent settings, and applicable requirements configured for the application.

If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to the developer, contact mohamedazad415@gmail.com.

12. International Data Processing

Third-party providers such as Apple, Google, and Adapty may process information in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States.

Their processing is governed by their respective privacy policies, contractual safeguards, and applicable data-protection laws.

Locally stored WakeNest recordings, journals, and preferences remain on your device unless you choose to export or share them.

13. Security

WakeNest limits access to sensitive information through Apple's permission systems and stores core personal content locally.

However, no device, storage method, or electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device and Apple Account.

14. Health Disclaimer

WakeNest is intended for general wellness and informational purposes.

WakeNest is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or monitor any medical condition.

Sleep scores, sound classifications, trends, and guidance should not be considered medical advice. Consult a qualified healthcare professional if you have concerns about your health or sleep.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information, including the right to:

  • Request information about data processing
  • Request access, correction, or deletion
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent
  • Submit a complaint to a data-protection authority

Most information managed directly by WakeNest is stored locally and can be controlled through the application or device settings.

For requests concerning information processed by Google, Adapty, or Apple, you may also need to contact the relevant provider directly.

To submit a privacy request to the WakeNest developer, contact mohamedazad415@gmail.com.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when WakeNest's features, legal requirements, or third-party services change.

The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will indicate the latest revision. Material changes may also be communicated through the application or its App Store listing when appropriate.
